WI Must Hold Strong Against Union Intimidation

By Caomhin

First off, good for Gov. Scott Walker for standing strong against the unions, and big ups to conservative bloggers for keep the truth in circulation.  The union’s ginormous hissy fit is not due to the fact that unions would loose collective bargaining rights altogether.  The only concessions that the taxpayers and citizens of Wisconsin are looking for from the unions is that union members contribute to their health care and retirement costs in order to prevent a fiscal crisis from unfolding.  To the average America, this is beyond reasonable and some are probably stunned that public employees have not had to make contributions to either in the past.

The people of Wisconsin voted for Scott Walker to lead them and he is doing his job.  The unions, aided of course by President Obama’s vast astroturfing organization, are going bonkers because the will not be responsible to the voters’ wills unless they are carried kicking and screaming.  If this is what it takes, then so be it.  This is what the people of Wisconsin want, for the unions to contribute to their benefits and to not deter future generations from reaching attaining their hopes and dreams due to tremendous tax increases that would be collected solely for the benefit of the union.

Part of the reason that Obama’s group is astroturfing the Midwest is due to the fact that his economy crushing budgets are leading to a fiscal tornado for America.  Many entitlement programs will have to be reformed and he refuses not only to lead on these issues, but to even consider to lead on these issues.  Many states in our nations, especially the deep blue states, are also facing budget crises of their own and will have to be seriously addressed.  Democrats see Wisconsin as critical to stopping reforms and keeping their campaign contributions from the unions keep rolling into their coffers.  Of course, these dues are compulsory so anything that would lower these contributions is instantly a threat to liberals, hence, the demonization for those who are seeking to reign in the madness.

Unions used to stand for something.  Unions used to be good.  Times, however, have changed.  At the current time the unions primary purpose is contribute to Democratic political campaign and engage in astroturfing in order to benefit liberal causes.  We are facing serious fiscal issues that threaten all American and our citizens and future generations can not and must not be held hostage by a political party hell bent on currying favor to a group with which they have a symbiotic relationship.  Contributing to benefits is not an unreasonable request.  Threatening and intimidating the people of Wisconsin as a result  of such a request is unacceptable, and yet, sadly, this may just be the tip of the iceberg.  For the good of our nation and for the future generations to come, this is a fight the people of Wisconsin must win.  I hope that Gov. Walker will deliver.

Thoughts on the Murders in Arizona

By Caomhin

No matter what, my thoughts and my prayers go out the victims and their families that were affected by the actions of a sociopathic lunatic.  This is exactly what the murderer, Jared Loughner is, a sociopath.  He is deserving of all of our scorn and our anger equally as much as the victims, their families, and friends are deserving of our thoughts, our prayers, and our deepest, most sincere condolences.

I can not imagine the horror that these men and women are going through. Simple words that I type here cannot express how I feel for them.  We all wish we could do more to help them and certainly, I believe, we hope that, God forbid, any of us were to be in a similar situation that we could conduct ourselves in such a gracious manner.

With regards to the political posturing, how dare all of you.  How dare you conduct yourselves in such a manner.  How dare you attempt to take away the feelings directed toward Jared Loughner and attempt to re-direct them in order to advance your political goals and ambitions.

A person such as Markos Moulitsas, who took to his twitter account to attempt to blame these atrocities on people with whom he disagreed with politically without uttering a single original though or word of concern for the victims.  A person such as Sherriff Clarence Dupnik, who in my opinion is teetering on obstruction of justice, who politically opines instead of focusing on the crime, the perpetrator, and the victims.  People such as Paul Krugman, and many, many others who openly sought to immediate exploit the suffering of others for the their agenda.  Your callousness and opportunism is beyond the pale.

This heinous crime is the fault of one person, Jared Loughner.  He should the person who is being scorned by the media and by the public and yet, here we are.  We should be praying for the victims, their family and friends, we should mourn those we have lost and pray for  the best for those who are recovering.  I hope Rep. Gabrielle Giffords recovers in full and quickly.  I only wish we could have saved those who passed away.  My heart goes out to you and I pray that God will give you comfort.  I wish I could do more for you than provide words.

Kudos to Red State

By Caomhin

Nothing but respect for Red State and Erick Erickson for banning Truthers and Birthers from their site:

We’ve always banned truthers at RedState. Increasingly, we have also banned a number of individuals who think Barack Obama is disqualified from being President because despite the Republican Governor of Hawaii confirming the legitimacy of the Democratic President’s birth origin as a citizen of the United States these birthers (”birfers” because it sounds as crazy as they are) refuse to move on.

Today I want to reaffirm and make it more definitive. If you think 9/11 was an inside job or you really want to debate whether or not Barack Obama is an American citizen eligible to be President, RedState is not a place for you.

Birfers and Truthers are not welcome here. Period. End of Story.

The whole thing is worth a read and I commend them for taking this stance.  I have little tolerance for Truthers and Birthers, I simply cannot take them seriously at all.  I have a firm commitment to never support any candidate who takes either of these ridiculous positions.  Furthermore, I prefer not to hold conversations with them either.   In so far as candidates are concerned, I believe strongly they must disavow both of these outlandish conspiracy theories.  To be sure, there will be Truthers and Birthers who support a candidate, after all, you can not control who supports you, but it is a candidate’s responsibility to go on record and strongly disavow these positions.  I do not have tolerance for candidates and officials who entertain these whack jobs.

In an ideal world, I wouldn’t have to deal with these nuts at all, but unfortunately we do not live in a perfect world.  I do not have respect nor can I take seriously people who advocate these position regardless of political creed.  I can only hope that more people such as Erick Erickson and more sites such as Red State make their feelings crystal clear.  I have made mention of my feelings about these positions previously but not in one succinct post.  I have done so now.

Obamacation Update

By Caomhin

Maybe every day that passes makes me a bit for cynical, or maybe the media is just that horrendous that this article is clouding my interpretation of their text.  The AP reports on Obama’s vacation:

The president’s holiday vacation was delayed by a Senate vote on health care legislation, then interrupted—and, by all accounts, derailed—by the attempted Christmas Day bombing of a Northwest Airlines flight as it prepared to land in Detroit.

Is it just me or does the author of this article actually seemed bothered by the fact that Obama wasn’t able to what he does best, absolutely nothing, due to the Senate voting on his socialized health care plan and by the attempted terrorist attacks on our nation?  Seriously, who in their right mind cares if Obama’s vacation was “derailed” by the attempted murder of American citizens by an Islamic extremist?  What people should care about is the fact that Obama STAYED on vacation after the attempted attack and that he did not fire Janet “The System Worked” Napolitano.  Pathetic.

Rick Santorum Still Testing the Waters

By Caomhin

Very interesting to me on a number of fronts.  Being from Pennsylvania, I have the opportunity to know Santorum pretty well in terms of how hard of a worker he is and where his convictions lay.  It was a shame when he lost to Bob Casey in 2006, actually I was pretty upset by it, as it left us with Arlen Specter (Specter – PA), as the only “Republican” Senator the Commonwealth had, and as we all know (Republicans and Democrats alike), Sen. Specter is very much concerned with the Specter Party of PA and couldn’t care less about the GOP or the Democrats.

Casey was pretty popular in PA at the time as many people knew about his public work but not in complete detail.  Many people tend to forget that his father, an old Democrat, and someone with whom I disagreed with on many issues, but respected in general, was and is still very, very popular.  I highly doubt you’ll see the younger Casey duplicate his success in 2012 as he is so very out of touch with Pennsylvanians and in lock step with Obama, but we have a great deal of time to touch on that in the future.

I know more than a few people who know Rick Santorum personally, and I’ve never heard a negative word about the man, how he carries himself, how great he is with his family, etc.  Everything I know and have heard about him is that he’s the real deal, he walks the walk and talks the talk, he’s more concerned about doing the right thing than winning elections, which is the only attitude that’s acceptable in politics to me.  He is a tried and true conservative and strongly appeals to my fiscally conservative side and while I’m not as socially conservative as some (and yes, I am Catholic) he will have a strong appeal to that part of our coalition as well.  He is also very strong on national defense.  It’s still early in the season, but I’m very happy that he is in the discussion as we move forward.

Media Bias Headline of the Year

By Caomhin

Not to mention delusional.  Not only is the headline stunningly insane, the context is as well.  Yet still, somehow, there are many a Democrat who think there is no such thing as media bias.  It’s called reality, my friends, the least you can do is acknowledge it.

If you can stand to read the entire article, you really start to get the sense that our friends on the Left really wish there wasn’t such pesky things as checks and balances preventing Obama from being ordained emperor of the United States.  Actually, you hear it all the time in discussions with many Liberals, calling the GOP “obstructionist,” blaming Congress for not just handing Obama what he wants, or anything else they think may keep Obama from just having supreme authority and having all the stars in the sky named after him.

The funny thing is, it’s not the GOP who is stopping him, it’s his own party. After all, the Democrats have a super majority and are essentially powerless to stop him.  It’s the American people’s opposition to his horrendous policies that have stopped moderate Democrats from fast tracking this nation’s ruin.  Obama has put us so far in debt, has contributed to what is, in my view, a criminal, politically fueled unemployment rate, and increasing encroaches on person freedoms, that Democrats with a sense of obligation and a moral compass aren’t blindly jumping on board with his plans.  Then again, maybe that’s too much credit for them.  Maybe they’re just looking for payoffs like Sen. Mary Landrieu of Louisiana.

Founding Fathers and Happy Independence!

By Riss

A worthwhile Youtube video. Never forget Our Founding Fathers wisdom.

Please do not ever take our Country and our Freedom for granted.  We are walking a thin line between right and wrong and I hope with all my heart that the people of our great country realize the hardcore consequences of our Constitution be violated on a daily basis.  We the People have lost sight of what America stands for and We the People need to stand up for our country and take back America.

“That government is best which governs least.” Thomas Paine

I hope that everyone has a safe and Happy Independence Day, God bless!

WAKE UP NEW JERSEY!

By Riss

Warning, this may make you want to throw up, take pain killers, slit your wrists or all 3 in that order if you live in New Jersey.

This was sent to me by the Chris Christie Campaign.

THE REAL CORZINE BUDGET
What you didn’t hear at today’s budget signing…

CORZINE BUDGET BY THE NUMBERS…
· $10 billion deficit for FY2011
· $1.2 billion in new taxes and fees for New Jerseyans
· 1.2 million taxpayers won’t receive rebates in FY 2010
· According to Rutgers economist James Hughes, all are almost guaranteed to see an increase from 3 to 4 percent in their property taxes (David Matthau, “New State Budget Will Whack the Typical Jersey Family” – Millennium Radio, 06/25/09)
By the pockets of New Jersey taxpayers…
In FY2010, Governor Corzine’s budget will make the tax burden even heavier by making the taxpayers pay these new taxes and fines:
· $970 million for the elimination of tax rebates
· $903 million for income tax rate increases
· $400 million for tax increase on employers for unemployment program
· $270 million for corporate business tax increase
· $100 million for the elimination of property tax deduction
· $37 million for health insurance tax increases
· $30 million for cigarette tax increases
· $24 million for wine and liquor tax increases
· $20 million for DMV fees
· $8 million for taxing lottery winnings increase
By the future shortfalls…
In the FY2010 budget, Governor Corzine’s reliance on one-shot gimmicks will put New Jersey in even worse shape for FY2011. Take a look at the voids that we will have to fill in FY2011 because of Jon Corzine’s misguided priorities in FY2010.
· $2.5 billion in deferred pension payments from FY2010
· $2.2 billion in federal stimulus funds that will not be available in FY2011
· $1 billion to fill the gap left from expired “one-time” tax increases
· $600 million to fill the gap left from the one-time tax amnesty collection
· $500 million in deferred property tax rebates
· $450 million in deferred debt payments
· $300 million to balance raided trust funds and dedicated funds

This budget is a disgrace. NJ is relying on stimulus funds to get by in 2010, a crap load of tax increases (GASP) and we are left with a big old question mark for 2011. Completely unacceptable! I can’t even describe the anger I am feeling for Corzine’s mismanagement of NJ.  He has destroyed us.  He has to go…

It’s Been Awhile…far too long actually…

By Riss

I know, I know, I have been silenced by Obama’s Administration, sucking on cigarettes, booze and popping pills like it was 1969 all over again. Oh wait, I think people were far more free then. Anyway, I just have a few things I need to get off my chest…this will probably not be my classiest post, but that’s just how I am feeling these days.

Ok, so I am a few weeks late in saying or I guess calling Contessa Brewer out.  She is basically begging for me to call her out…WATCH.

It goes without saying, a woman with a brain would really be bothered by being called a slut.  It apparently doesn’t bother Contessa Brewer. So, ok, here goes,  Contessa Brewer, you are an ignorant slut! WOO, I feel so much better. Not popping a percocet better, but damn close. I love Ziegler though, you handle the clowns on MSNBC with such poise and that has got to be difficult!

Next…

SENATOR Barbara Boxer.  I mean really, you have to love to hate this bitch, no?  Can you even stand the audacity of this bitch?  How dare you SENATOR Boxer, you are a disgrace to public office and a disgrace to this country.  HOW DARE YOU!  She offends me, so I will not post a clip of her ignorance and the way that she spoke to one of our country’s best.  You SENATOR are a very small person, quite pathetic actually.  Your job is to serve your country and your constituents and not care about your big bad title.  You were voted for, which is scary in itself, stupid Californians.  Please don’t be offended California, but if you are a conservative living in California, how come you haven’t moved yet? What a nightmare! Anyway, Brigadier General Michael Walsh has done far more then you will ever do with your pathetic existence and guess what? HE HAS HONOR.   Hey Babs, aren’t you up for reelection in 2010?  Hopefully I can help your constituents wake up and guarantee you do not get a 4th term.  You are far too superior to be a SENATOR, next up for you Babs, cleaning toilets with the toothbrush that cleans that filthy mouth of yours.  It’s probably an upgrade for you though.

I would just like to wrap this up by saying, Brigadier General Michael Walsh, thank you for all that you do for our country. Thank you.
