Support Sen. Saxby Chambliss

Conservatives and libertarians in Georgia need to unite on December 2nd and re-elect Sen. Saxby Chambliss.  After the first round of elections Sen. Chambliss won the popular vote, but under Georgia state laws, he must now face Democratic candidate Jim Martin in a run-off on the aforementioned date.  Sen. Chambliss is an excellent Senator and is well deserving of another term.

Sen. Chambliss has an outstanding record of being a friend to the American taxpayer, earning an endorsement from The Club for Growth and has a very solid anti-pork record.  He is a proponent of low taxes in general, the Fair Tax system in particular, and is in favor of a permanent repeal of the Death Tax.   Sen. Chambliss has an outstanding record on energy as well, favoring both an increase in domestic oil and gas production while developing alternative energy sources, all of which benefit our nation economically and from a national defense standpoint.

I strongly encourage you to explore Sen. Chambliss’s website and if possible to please a donation to his campaign.  I know how difficult times are with the economy in turmoil, but rest assured, you will have a strong believer in a limited government and a free market ally in Saxby Chambliss who will tirelessly fight on your behalf.

Analyzing the left

Recently I sent information to a Democrat I know regarding Obama’s recent selection of Rahm Emanuel as his new Chief of Staff.  The intent was to gauge the reaction of this Democrat once this person learned that Emanuel had served on Freddie Mac’s GSE (Government Sponsored Enterprises) board from 2000-2002.  (http://www.businessandmedia.org/articles/2008/20081106133228.aspx)  Before I outline this Democrats reaction, please allow me to briefly explain the GSE.

The Federal National Mortgage Association, named Fannie Mae, and the Federal Home Mortgage Corporation, named Freddie Mac, have operated since 1968 as government sponsored enterprises (GSEs). This means that, although the two companies are privately owned and operated by shareholders, they are protected financially by the support of the Federal Government.

Obama ran his 2008 Presidential campaign on “Hope and Change,” however; he decided to place his trust in Emanuel, a former associate of Freddie Mac.  Please also remember that Obama has ties to Franklin Raines (former CEO of Fannie Mae) and Jim Johnson (former chairman of Fannie Mae, who also was head of Obama’s VP search).  (http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,423701,00.htm).

So, let’s loop back to my original question.  What type of rebuttal would the left leaning Democrat respond with regarding news that Obama had appointed a former Freddie Mac GSE board member?  The response was to immediately look backward on President George W. Bush.  The actual response, “and Bush did such a great job with the economy for 8 years.”

And so, with this response, I have prepared myself for the Obama Presidency to be filled with Democratic excuses and Bush blaming for everything that goes wrong under Obama.

1. If terrorism strikes this country, the Democratic response will be that Bush’s foreign policy cause angst in the international community.

2. If poverty strikes a majority of Americans because of Obama’s wealth redistribution program, it’s because Bush severely hurt our economy as President.

Sadly, modern day Democrats remind me of adolescents.  They pout when they don’t get their way (see the 2000 Presidential Election that was “stolen” from them), they take for granted that what our Country has (see Freedom and any “peace” march the Democrats or Code Pink stage), and they base their opinions on what is popular at the time (see John Kerry, Hillary Clinton, Bill Clinton, Barack Obama, or any Democrat).

It’s up to the Republicans to be the adults in this relationship.  And for the next four years, we are going to have our hands full!

All Good Things

“Country first” he said with an affirming nod and my heart skipped a beat.  I looked around to see the faces of 100 others, I could see the glow of America in their eyes, never more proud.  And so it began, 6 months ago, a fight for a cause that was far greater than anything I could have ever imagined.   Shaking the hand of John McCain, was to me, an amazing honor and that hand shake drove me to do all that I could for his campaign and today, I wouldn’t change a thing, well, other than winning obviously.

By the time the concession speech had started, my eyes were filled with tears.  “We fought – we fought as hard as we could. And though we fell short, the failure is mine, not yours.”  You see, an American hero always puts the world on his shoulders to squash any burden.  A man who has given his whole life for this country, even in the eye of defeat, was still able to inspire and keep his head held high.  It took me a few days to come to terms with the loss of the election, not because of Barack Obama, but because I didn’t want the campaign to come to an end.  I didn’t want the feeling of a great fight to end, or the unity it brought into my life by working with people I never would have met otherwise.   The hero in John McCain brought out the best in all of us, and I hope that the people I have met along the way, do not ever forget it.  In life, we win some and we lose some, but what I have taken away from the last 6 months is life changing.  Because of John McCain, I will never give up.  I will stay true to what I believe in and I will always stand up for what I believe in, even if it’s not popular.  I will always be proud to be an American.

With that being said, Barack Obama is our President Elect and although I didn’t vote for him, I am going to embrace him.  He deserves every American’s support.  I want to remind my fellow Americans that we must treat Barack Obama better than the country treated George W. Bush the last 8 years.  When things aren’t perfect or start to go down the toilet we need to stand strong and remember, the President isn’t always to blame.   All sorts of things are going to happen to our country and no President has ever had a perfect presidency.  In my opinion, Barack Obama is jumping in at the “mid-flush” point of the American Toilet, either we are going to overflow, clean up the mess and thrive or things will get progressively worse and there will be no water in the bowl to flush the mess away and we will be stuck with it for awhile.  Either way, the plunger is in our President Elect’s hand and I hope he does great things with it.  I wish him well, and I pray that he can bring some sort of change that will be good for all of us, political preferences aside.  Join me, lets’ stick to our values and support those with other views so that maybe they will support some of ours, be heard and most importantly be open-minded.   Nothing great has ever happened to a person who lives each day without taking another road home or trying a different sandwich, greatness comes from going outside your box of comfort.  Be the change you want to see in the world.

Even though the election has come to an end, no great man ever has an end.  John McCain has left us all with some hero running through our veins and for that I am grateful, no matter what the next 4 years brings.  “Country first” he said…

Halloween and what it brought to mind…

Halloween was an odd day, I don’t know if it was the ghosts and goblins or if it was the fear I heard in people’s voices when they spoke about the coming election.  I am going to assume the later.  The bottom line is people are scared.  The 30 and under crowd are scared of an Obama presidency that will take their hard earned dollars away and redistribute it to other’s, most of which will be undeserving.  Then the exact extreme with the senior citizens, which are scared that a McCain presidency will take away their social security and Medicare. Regardless, I personally blame Obama.  Every time the TV is on, Obama is changing his definition of who would be considered rich and he has commercials running to scare our seniors into believing that they will not have money or medical coverage and will be left to die in the streets.  I do not want anyone to be confused here and think that I am being biased and completely in full agreement of everything and anything John McCain says, because I am not. But what I do know and believe deep down is that John McCain will not destroy OUR freedom.

What sickens me and I am not being dramatic, I literally fall ill with the way the media continues to support a candidate that will if elected (I say if because I am hoping that the people of this great country aren’t as stupid as they are appearing) will be censored.  Obama has consistently shown the American people that it’s his way or the highway. What will happen to OUR freedom of speech? What will happen if WE the people don’t follow the great Obama in his path to ruin OUR American dream?  And furthermore, why are the American people not seeing through this?  Bottom line, the media is so smitten with Obama and the common folk are equally as snowed…if people actually listened to Obama’s words and not the smooth talking rhetoric that only answers certain questions, which all are rather lame and not challenging, McCain would have this election in the bag. The Obama campaign only answers the pretty questions and doesn’t really have a plan for anything that we Americans care about. HOPE, for what? What kind of CHANGE? Think about it, has Obama really ever answered these questions without painting a pretty picture of nonsense? NO…it’s just some sort of pipedream that you are suppose to assume and trust.  Can we really trust a man that cannot answer a question without it being premeditated? Can we really trust a man that is afraid to be without a teleprompter?

Ok, so I am all over the place, but I am going to blame the late night I had.  My car got sprayed with baby oil and my McCain bumper sticker magnet was thrown into a pile of leaves.  I stayed up until 3am thinking that maybe the violators would come back so I could chase them down.  They violated my little Hyundai and threw my freedom of speech on the ground, stomping on my hope and dream of change completely clueless that with their action, they did the same thing.  I washed my oiled McCain magent off and put it back on my car and added a new magnent, that of the American flag.  I will never be forced into silence and I will never wave a white flag.  I don’t think that everyone has to be a McCain supporter, but throwing a sticker on the ground with an American hero’s name on it proves that people have lost American spirit.  Am I one of the few people that to this day stops a soldier on the street to thank him or her for what they have sacrificed? Does it not matter anymore that these people give it all up for us to be free? Do people really think that we would still be free without our soldiers? We would certainly not be, we would be having continuous 9-11’s without these honorable people.  And I thank George W. Bush for his determination to keep us safe.  Love him or hate him, he HAS KEPT US SAFE.  With that being said, I am not afraid of an Obama presidency; tax me, take away my medical coverage and freedom of speech, do whatever, but do not Mr. Obama destroy our national security.

With all of my ramblings, I am going to close by saying, do not be a small minded American and do not be mesmerized by the tactics of the Barack Obama campaign with his idea of hopes, dreams, change, bologna and the redistribution of government cheese. He can keep his change and his tax increases and his ideal that we can talk with terrorists and be best friends forever. Be smart America, check your facts with history, this has never worked, he and his congress cronies will not be able to make it work and we will all pay some serious consequences and I don’t just mean financially. Check the facts for yourself of what the last 2 years of a Democratic run Congress has done for this country.  Be the smart America that we are known and hated for.  Socialism will not save OUR country and being government puppets will destroy everything OUR founding fathers ever hoped for all of us. Remember them? Do you remember; We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America? Do you remember now? Before you vote November 4, 2008, remember OUR Constitution and remind yourself about how far this country has come, the sacrifices of many and ask yourself why you are proud to be an American.
