Obama, Democrats, Don’t Care About the Will of the People

Even before Obama’s Health Care Summit sham, Democrats have made it abundantly clear that they could care less what the people of American want, which is for elected leaders to start over on health care.  Democrats have known, most likely even before Scott Brown was elected Senator in Massachusetts, that they would pursue reconciliation in order to get what they want, the American people be damned. Now, it is becoming clearer, and clearer, and clearer, that this was their intention all along.  Hardcore Leftists are still seeking the public option to be put into a bill that is strongly opposed by the American people by an arrogant, desperate means for liberals to force their will upon on an willing public.

The attitude and tone of the Democrats on this issue is openly hostile at worst, and indifferent at best,  to the American people.  Don’t think for one moment that they do not know that the people are against to this bill.  They know that this bill will further balloon the spiraling deficit, they know that this bill will increase unemployment by essentially declaring war on yet another sector of our economy, but you know what?  They don’t care.  They don’t care what you or I think.  When Obama goes in front of the cameras during that “summit” looking to “share ideas,” the only thing he was looking to do was for Republicans to succumb to his ideas.  He wasn’t there to listen to the ideas of the GOP or to understand that poll after poll after poll show that the people of this nation oppose him on this issue.  He wants his way and he damn sure won’t negotiate with or change his goals based on what the people of this nation want.  The bottom line is they don’t care about the will of the American people and liberals continue to illustrate that they will do anything to get their way.

Kudos to Red State

Nothing but respect for Red State and Erick Erickson for banning Truthers and Birthers from their site:

We’ve always banned truthers at RedState. Increasingly, we have also banned a number of individuals who think Barack Obama is disqualified from being President because despite the Republican Governor of Hawaii confirming the legitimacy of the Democratic President’s birth origin as a citizen of the United States these birthers (”birfers” because it sounds as crazy as they are) refuse to move on.

Today I want to reaffirm and make it more definitive. If you think 9/11 was an inside job or you really want to debate whether or not Barack Obama is an American citizen eligible to be President, RedState is not a place for you.

Birfers and Truthers are not welcome here. Period. End of Story.

The whole thing is worth a read and I commend them for taking this stance.  I have little tolerance for Truthers and Birthers, I simply cannot take them seriously at all.  I have a firm commitment to never support any candidate who takes either of these ridiculous positions.  Furthermore, I prefer not to hold conversations with them either.   In so far as candidates are concerned, I believe strongly they must disavow both of these outlandish conspiracy theories.  To be sure, there will be Truthers and Birthers who support a candidate, after all, you can not control who supports you, but it is a candidate’s responsibility to go on record and strongly disavow these positions.  I do not have tolerance for candidates and officials who entertain these whack jobs.

In an ideal world, I wouldn’t have to deal with these nuts at all, but unfortunately we do not live in a perfect world.  I do not have respect nor can I take seriously people who advocate these position regardless of political creed.  I can only hope that more people such as Erick Erickson and more sites such as Red State make their feelings crystal clear.  I have made mention of my feelings about these positions previously but not in one succinct post.  I have done so now.

The AP Recognizes that the National Debt is Unsustainable

Many of us have argued that the National Debt is completely unsustainable, undermining everything in this nation from national security to the strength of the dollar to the very core of our economic system.  Government expenditures are so far out of control that we risk our very future with every spending bill that is crafted and Congress has thus far shown no ability to grasp reality or accept responsibility for it’s actions.  Now, even the AP is noticing this and sounding some alarms:

WASHINGTON (AP) – It’s bad enough that Greece’s debt problems have rattled global financial markets. In the world’s largest economic and military power, there’s a far more serious debt dilemma.

For the U.S., the crushing weight of its debt threatens to overwhelm everything the federal government does, even in the short-term, best-case financial scenario—a full recovery and a return to prerecession employment levels.

The government already has made so many promises to so many expanding “mandatory” programs. Just keeping these commitments, without major changes in taxing and spending, will lead to deficits that cannot be sustained.

It is a short article and worth the read.  However, I have a bad feeling that is the start of the media’s push to attempt to cover Obama’s flank to raise taxes.  The more you pay attention to the many interviews and ideas being churned out by members of the Obama Administration, the more it become apparent that they are gearing up to break their pledge to not raise income taxes on those making $250,000 or less.  In fact, there has been no movement or talk at all in Congress to extend any of the Bush Tax Cuts that have helped every single American and all tax brackets.  Obama and his liberal allies have pushed tax increases onto Americans in various ways, for example in the proposed Cap and Trade bill, the Health Care bill, and Obama’s financial industry taxes, all of these will be passed on to the American public.  Only a fool would increase taxes during a depression (yes, we are in a depression, we fit the text book definition of a depression, unfortunately no one has the courage to appropriately label it correctly).  Yet, this is exactly what we are facing.

Liberals do not have the self control or the foresight to cut spending dramatically in order to preserve the long term health of this nation.  Our futures, the futures of our children depend on shoring up our bottom line, and our President and Congress simply do not care.  We are burdened with enough taxes and enough programs.  Over time, as American has moved away from  pure economic and personal freedoms we have seen this situation further deteriorate.  Yet, is precisely into the abyss that our elected leaders have moved us toward.  This is simply unacceptable.  We have a duty to stand up to this kind of nonsense and stop the madness.  Until we elect responsible citizens into office, we cannot expect a cure to this financial disease.  We can not afford to simply wait and hope anymore.  Elected statesmen is a necessity and we need to do so every opportunity we get, for if we continue to put irresponsible men and women into office we all suffer immensely in the future.

Democrats Continue to Pursue Reconciliation for Health Care

No surprise here.  If there is one thing we know about the Left, it’s that they will try to get their way by hook or by crook.  They have long since hinted, despite the American people’s overwhelming opposition to their horrendous health care plan (and desiring Congress to start fresh) and the election results in Massachusetts, that they will try to ram their socialized health care plan down the population’s throats.  Now, more reports that they will, in fact pursue reconciliation to try to pass their bill:

Speaking on CNN’s “State of the Union,” Kyl echoed a claim that congressional Republicans have made for the past week, that President Barack Obama and House and Senate Democrats intend the summit as a public display and not a genuine dialogue. He quoted a recent Wall Street Journal article that asserted House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) has “set the stage” for using reconciliation to pass the bill. That controversial legislative tactic could allow the bill to pass the Senate with 51 votes instead of 60 as usually required to break a filibuster.

This is further proof that Obama’s “health care talks,” are nothing more than a sham and that liberals will do anything to try and get their way.  They could care less what the American people want, and this has been proven time and time again in the way that they legislate.  Obama’s ego apparently is so far gone that he cannot bring himself to go along with the will of the American people.  George W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George Bush, and Ronald Reagan have all had success crafting bipartisan measures.  Now, while I may disagree with some of the bills passed in a bipartisan manner, the fact is that each of the previous presidents have expressed and proven that they are capable of tempering down their plans and reaching across the aisle to seek a middle ground.  Obama and his liberal allies, are so far gone, that they cannot bring themselves to do so.  The resistance to their plans by the American people is evident and they could care less.

The GOP should simply boycott Obama’s “health care talks.”   In actuality, this is going to be nothing more than Obama putting on a show while he will try any tricks necessary to force Americans into legislation that they do not want nor will accept.  He has no intention of telling Democrats to work with Republicans to build a new bill that will have not only bipartisan congressional support, but the support of the American people.  The reality of the situation is that Obama and the liberals in Congress only care about getting their way and have demonstrated a contempt for the will of the American people.  Come November, we will have the opportunity to vote some of the usurpers out of office, but in the meantime, we must work diligently to demonstrate to our representatives that we will not accept laws that run counter to what works in real life.  We simply cannot accept legislation that runs counter to what the American people want.

Obama Administration Violating Right to Privacy

There is a fine line between the government doing all they can to protect us (which the Obama administration is not as further evidenced by their handling of the Christmas Day bombing suspect, Adbulmutallab) and stepping over the lines and violating our rights. There were parts of the Patriot Act that I had issues with, not to the extent that many libertarians had, but there were some parts, as a conservative, that caused concern to me.  One thing about initiating laws is that even if you trust and want to grant that kind of power to the person currenly sitting in office you also have to grant that power to unknown people who will have that power in the future.  The Obama Administration is clearly violating the peoples’ rights to privacy by proactively monitoring your conversations without cause:

As the winter Olympics begin, the Department of Homeland Security has disclosed that it will be monitoring the comments and posts on websites and social media like Twitter for information on possible terror threats. Among the sites listed in a privacy impact statement filed Friday afternoon by DHS are the Drudge Report, the Huffington Post, Twitter, Google and this web site, the Blotter.

The National Operations Center of DHS will watch the web for information, according to the statement, to “provide situational awareness” in the event of natural disaster, an “act of terrorism, or other manmade disaster.”

“The Olympics are a potential target for such events,” said the statement. The statement did not list all web sites and social media that the NOC will monitor, but provided 31 examples, many of them, like the Blotter, sites that cover breaking news, security, or terror.

The Administration has to know full well, unless they truly are as incompetent as some people claim, that any gathering of individuals could be considered a target of terrorists, as could any part of our infrastructure.  We, as Americans, are amazingly resilient and we have a duty to report suspicious behavior and report information to the proper authorities to at least do a small part in protecting our nation.  I know that we have the best and the brightest in our Armed Forces, and we have incredible agents in the FBI and CIA.  However, the direction they are being given by the political appointees in the Obama Administration has been nothing short of terrible.

This Administration has shown us that they do not know how to properly handle the War on Terror.  They have shown utter fear in keeping the terrorist threat locked up in Guantanamo. They want to provide civilian trials and grant the rights to Americans citizens to murderous barbarians in order to try and kiss up to some foreign leaders, while ignoring the overwhelming wishes of the American people.  Sadly, the Obama Administration appears to be more concerned with granting rights to those who wants to kill us rather than respect American’s rights to privacy.  The cynic in me has a feeling that their true intentions of monitoring social networks and websites has only a small part to do with fighting terrorism.

CBS Hits Obama for Lying about Calls for Bipartisanship

Kudos to Mark Knoller of CBS for calling Obama out for his lies with relation to wanting to work in a bipartisan spirit with the GOP:

What these presidential appeals for bipartisanship always mean is: do it my way.

Mr. Obama said he “won’t hesitate to embrace a good idea from my friends in the minority party.” But he wants his way. He wants his energy policy enacted along with his jobs bill, his financial regulatory reform and his health care plan.
And if the opposition continues to block his objectives, he said he “won’t hesitate to condemn what I consider to be obstinacy that’s rooted not in substantive disagreement but in political expedience.”
When a sitting president calls for bipartisanship by the opposition – he really means surrender. And if they block his proposals, its “obstinacy” and not political views they hold as strongly as he holds his.

Mr. Knoller is absolutely right.  Obama has never been genuine about his calls for bipartisanship.  In fact, he only has started to talk about bipartisanship in any large degree since Scott Brown won the special election in Massachusetts and cost Liberals their Supermajority.  Now, Obama HAS to have at least one GOP member to get bills passed, and rather than do actually work with Republicans, he refuses to back away from his plans and consider other opens.  Rather than hold open and honest talks with the GOP, he wants to televise a scolding and try to pressure the GOP into giving him his own way.  John Boehner and other Republicans should indeed boycott Obama’s “health care reform talk,” on Feb. 25th until Obama shows that he is honest about wanting to listen to other ideas and incorporate them into a bill that works for the American people.  Boehner is also correct in that the Obama’s bill will not pass.  Of course, Obama, Reid, and Pelosi, are just the kinds of egomaniacs who will force a bill widely opposed by the American people, down our throats through reconciliation.  However, I promise you, if they were to resort to this tactic rather than to craft a bill satisfactory to the American people, all of our efforts to throw the usurpers out of office in a swift and decisive fashion, will increase exponentially.

Obama is a talented speaker. When it comes to working well with others, problem solving, stepping out of his comfort zone, working with numbers, or governing, he lacks a strong skill set. However, it is his ego that is his biggest drawback and the one that has become glaringly obvious to the American people.  Rather than overpromising and under delivering as so many politicians before him, he has hyper promised and delivered nothing.  Americans will respond to him and his Party at the election booth in November.

Liberal Rage Being Focused on Tea Party

The level of anger that has been and continues to come from the left, in an increasing manner, at the Tea Party movement is something to behold.  Simply watching any broadcast that MSNBC puts on illustrates that point, as leftists like Keith Olbermann, Rachel Maddow, and Chris Matthews skeik in horror whenever the topic of fiscal responsibility arises.  Besides the hacks that comprise their network line up, other members of the mainstream media, unions, and other openly left wing organizations and individuals have expressed extreme rage at the Tea Party, attempting to demonize other individuals who are trying to hold the government responsible for the fiscal actions.

How ridiculous has the Leftist’s hatred grown?  Their animosity has now delved into the realm of comic books:

In issue No. 602 of Captain America, “Two Americas, Part One,” the title hero and The Falcon, a black superhero from New York City, stumble upon a protest rally in Boise, Idaho. They see scores of protesters carrying signs that say “Stop the Socialists!” and “Tea Bag The Libs Before They Tea Bag YOU!”

Captain America says the protest appears to be an “anti-tax thing,” and The Falcon jokes that he likely would not be welcomed into the crowd of “angry white folks.”

Hysterical right?  Hot Air has more on this as well as a link to the history of liberal activism in the Captain America series. It’s amazing to me the level or racism contained on the left.  Aside from the stupid Tea Bag joke, the racism on display to essentially say that an African American would not be welcomed into a group, which not only has numerous African Americans in the organization, but has nothing to do with color and everything to do with holding the government responsible for its fiscal actions is beyond belief.  Recall if you will, how union thugs attacked Kenneth Gladney, a racially motivated attack, for participating in a protest.

The left has been brutal over the years to African Americans who do not tow the Democrat’s Party line.  They’ve hurled the highly offensive “Uncle Tom” at numerous African American men who have dissented from the left, including Colin Powell. The left called Condoleezza Rice a “house *****,” on numerous occasions, here is just one example. The Democrats question the racial identity of ever single minority who does not succumb to their wishes.  That takes a tremendous amount of hypocrisy to do so from the political party who embraced slavery (the GOP was founded as an anti-slavery party) and embraced Jim Crow laws.  If not for the overwhelming support of the GOP, the Civil Rights act would not have passed over Democrat’s objections.

To return to the conversation regarding Liberal hatred of the Tea Party, we are now seeing top Democratic donors funneling money to try to silence members of the Tea Party through the long held Democratic tradition of astroturfing:

But a close look reveals the APPC’s place in a complex network of money flowing from the mountainous coffers of the country’s biggest labor unions into political slush funds for Democratic activists.

Here’s how it works: What appears like a local groundswell is in fact the creation of two men — Craig Varoga and George Rakis, Democratic Party strategists who have set up a number of so-called 527 groups, the non-profit election organizations that hammer on contentious issues (think Swift Boats, for example).

Varoga and Rakis keep a central mailing address in Washington, pulling in soft money contributions from unions and other well-padded sources to engage in what amounts to a legal laundering system. The money — tens of millions of dollars — gets circulated around to different states by the 527s, which pay for TV ads, Internet campaigns and lobbyist salaries, all while keeping the hands of the unions clean — for the most part.

The system helps hide the true sources of funding, giving the appearance of locally bred opposition in states from Oklahoma to New Jersey, or in the case of the Tea Party Web site, in Illinois.

So distraught are liberals with the fact that keep apprised of the government’s spending and budgeting tactics, that they are ramping up efforts to get people to stop paying attention to what is going on in Washington. After all, this heightened level of attention being paid by American’s citizens has led to an awakening in this country to demand accountability.  I do not believe, no matter what Liberals try to do, that Americans will simply ignore the crushing amounts of debt, high levels of unemployment, efforts to raise taxes, to socialize industries, for one second.

The liberals have made their efforts clear and the overwhelming majority of Americans have rejected these efforts.  Obama won the election based on his rhetoric, on reassurances that he supported the free market, that he would embrace transparency, and practice fiscal restraint, among other things.  At a time when our nation desperately needs these things, he has proven, in just over a year, that he does not intend to honor these commitments.  The leftists have exploded the national debt to the point where it is unsustainable, weakened the dollar, openly threatened sectors of the economy from financial to energy to healthcare, and has attempted to rapidly expand the power and size of the government.  No matter how angry the hard left gets, no matter how much money they spend, they will not stop the American people from demanding their government be held accountable nor fulfill their civic duty from participating in the democratic process, nor be dissuaded from engaging in efforts to inform the public from what is happening in this nation.

Obama’s Change: Record Deficits

In his State of the Union Obama talked about not rewarding failure.  Americans should keep these words in mind this November and in 2012.  Obama’s projected budgets cast deficits as far out as projections allow, and for the fiscal year of 2011 Obama is determined to set records:

Republicans on Monday slammed President Obama’s $3.8 trillion budget as a fiscally irresponsible spending spree, casting doubt on the administration’s claim that the budget reflects cutbacks and hard choices.

The fiscal year 2011 budget, sent to Congress Monday, includes new jobs-creation programs and additional funding for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, but is projected to add nearly $1.3 trillion in deficit spending on top of the current year’s projected $1.6 trillion deficit. As he unveiled the budget, Obama warned the federal government to stop treating taxpayer dollars like “Monopoly money.”

Obama has the nerve to utter that last line, failing to recognize his utter destruction he has perpetrated against this nation’s finances.  He is proposing a $1.6 TRILLION DEFICIT. This doesn’t even include his government run health care plan.  This is on top of the $1.56 Trillion dollar deficit he ran last year.  Remember, this is before he and his liberal allies ram even more programs and spending bills down our throats.  Assuming Congress does nothing else, at all, about anything, until next year, Obama will have increased the deficit by $3.16 Trillion in 2 years.  That number is sure to grow.  So for Obama to say that government should stop treating the taxpayer dollar like “Monopoly money,” when he is in fact, the one doing it, it is offensive to anyone who pays taxes and lives in this nation.  He is putting our nation into levels of unsustainable debt and we will all feel the repercussions of this.  The liberals need to go, for the good of our nation, for its survival, they must be voted out.

Another key fact to note from this article:

According to White House estimates, the budget’s deficit for fiscal year 2013 would drop to $700 billion before jumping back up to $1 trillion in 2020, the furthest out that budgeters will predict.

He has projected deficits as far out as they can even project.  Additionally, his budget proposes eliminating most of the Bush Tax cuts that actually spurred investment and economic activity, bringing tax relief to all Americans, and greatly helped American small businesses.  He is also assuming an unemployment rate of close to 10% if not higher for the next two years.  He proposes raising taxes during a depression and spending uncontrollably for as long as he is in office and he thinks somehow, this can fix things.  He is wrong, the liberals are wrong, and they must go.  We cannot continue to pay the price for our “leadership’s” failure.  They must be voted out.

Obama has shown no restraint and refuses to take responsibility for his actions, always pointing the finger at others.  His hubris is so deep that he cannot even recognize the harm he is doing to our nation from the ability of families to maintain purchasing power from a strong dollar to our reputation globally as he continues to undermine our economy.  No amount of rhetoric can mask the reality of the situation.  It is dire and demands immediate action.  Rather than remedy the situation Obama and the liberals choose to exacerbate it, to the detriment of all Americans.  It is unconscionable.  We deserve better and Obama and the liberals must be voted out.

Obama Dials Up the Whambulance on Supreme Court Decision

Free speech in America?  Obama is really mad about that:

In the 5-4 decision Thursday, the high court threw out parts of a 63-year-old law that said companies and unions can be prohibited from using their own money to produce and run campaign ads that urge the election or defeat of particular candidates by name.

“I can’t think of anything more devastating to the public interest,” he said

…

Obama said the decision will make it harder to enact financial, tax, health care and energy changes.

Anything that upsets a Liberal’s agenda demands immediate scorn from our statist friends.  After Scott Brown’s win, Democrats are looking at trying reconciliation to pass Obamacare and are openly talking about ending the filibuster.  They’re like spoiled children who throw fits when they can’t get their way.  It’s rather amusing to watch yet at the same time highly annoying.

Obama is now in a tizzy because the Supreme Court (Obama, who has a background in law surely knows the term “Checks and Balances”) made the right call here which has severely upset him and now he may not get his way.  Hey it’s not as if the media hasn’t been spending all their money and stumping for Democrats for years.  Hell, MSNBC is practically just a giant campaign commercial for liberals.  All the Supreme Court did was allow corporations and the Unions among other entities the option to spend their money as they see fit.  I have no doubt that if this decision was strictly for the Unions and ignored corporations, Obama wouldn’t be out on TV crying.  As we all know Union money and efforts constantly go toward trying to get Democrats elected anyway. He’s just pissed because he may see an increase in funds going towards opposing his job killing, tax raising, government takeover agenda.

Ed Morrissey at Hot Air has a very good write up that you should check out. He focuses on the hypocrisy of Obama and of course, the New York Times. As always, Ed is on point.

What’s really got liberals and Obama pissed off is highlighted in the last sentence in the selection from the article.  Obama knows how strongly the American people are opposed to his bank tax and financial regulation schemes.  He knows how much Americans are opposed to efforts to increase their taxes.  He knows how strongly Americans are opposed to Obamacare and the government take over of the health care industry.  He knows how staunchly Americans are opposed to the horrendous Cap and Trade scheme which will bring even more job losses and taxes to Americans.  Now, corporations have the choice to weigh in if they so choose to exercise their rights to free speech.

Obama also asserts that he “can’t think of anything more devastating to the public interest.” Allowing for free speech is not devastating to the public interest whatsoever.  Government take over of sectors our economy and job killing policies are, however, devastating the public interest and of course there is another thing which is, in my opinion, causing the most devastation to the public interest, and Obama has accelerated its growth exponentially.

More Obamanomics Lessons

Obama talks, the markets listen. From Market Watch:

The dollar gave up earlier gains in afternoon trading on Thursday in a volatile session marked with conflicting signals from economic data, and stocks dropping as President Obama outlined plans to rein in banks. “Talk from the president of a major overhaul of how banks can operate appears to have scared foreign interest away from the greenback,” said analysts at Action Economics.

I have written before about Obama’s horrific plan to handicap financial institutions and drag down the economy.  Today, Obama took some time and expanded on his tax raising, job killing scheme and the markets, as expected, responded negatively.  It’s a shame those “fat cats” in the White House don’t have a 401(k) like the vast majority of Americans, or maybe they’d have been personally affected by this proposal like so many us have and will be should this idea pass.

Fox News has a bit more of the detail of his plan:

Obama is placing a new emphasis on Wall Street regulations, with a goal of limiting the financial sector to smaller, less interconnected firms.

…

The proposal would seek to limit bank consolidation and ensure that banks, and financial institutions that contain banks, cannot invest in hedge funds or other funds “unrelated to serving customers” for profit.

I have a goal too, to make government less complex, small, and less interconnected to the rights of individuals.  Of course that goal makes sense and empowers individuals and embraces the free markets.  Therefore, do not expect any liberal to endorse that particular idea.

All financial transactions involve risk and every single corporation has a duty to its owners (the shareholders) to maximize profits.  Financial decisions are based on a risk/reward matrix and each individual falls somewhere within this matrix.  You are willing to accept a certain level of risk in order to reach a certain level of POTENTIAL profit.  This is understood.  Now, however, Obama is essentially saying that owner of a corporation and the individuals who are consuming this product (in this case banking products) should not be allowed to make decisions based on their own needs and risk levels.  Additionally, the taxes Obama is proposing will be directly passed on to the American consumer, it is simply a lie for the Administration to state otherwise.  Furthermore, this will limit the freedom and choices available to consumers.  This is socialist, or at perhaps statist, but it runs counter to freedom.

Lastly for tonight, let me just mention that the Associated Press and every other liberal outfit in the land needs to pull their heads out of the sand and recognize that the economic policies that Liberals have imposed on this country are a complete and utter failure.  They have damaged our nation and put us into a depression.  Further, more, articles such as this one, where initial claims for unemployment increase yet again, are not “unexpected.”  This is precisely what I and others have long said would continue to happen as government intervention hampers the ability of the economy to rectify itself through the free market.  As I have long said, the economy will recover in spite of, and not because of, the role of government in the marketplace.
